Purposeful Speech
Therapy FAQs
Below are some frequently asked questions about speech therapy. Hopefully, you’ll find the information you need to know, but if you still have questions, please feel free to get in touch for more information.

Are you accepting new clients?
Yes, I am currently accepting new clients in BC and Ontario.
Will my insurance cover my visit?
Many insurance plans cover speech therapy services, but the amount of coverage varies considerably, so please check with your insurance provider about the specifics of your coverage. Please note that I do not bill the insurance companies directly. Instead, once payment has been completed, I provide you with a receipt, which you can then submit to your insurance company to claim reimbursement.
Do I need a referral from a physician?
You don’t require a medical referral in order to receive speech therapy services. However, please be sure to check with your insurance company for what may be required (such as a referral) in order for you to claim your coverage.
Is private speech therapy covered by the Medical Services Plan (MSP) in BC or Ontario Health Insurance Program (OHIP) in Ontario?
